Hi, I'm Gabbi! I am a happy wife to my husband Patrick. I enjoy playing softball, running, singing, playing the piano, having fun, and of course, cooking! My hope and vision for this website is to create simple, affordable, and delicious recipes that everyone will love and that everyone can make. I get frustrated when you look up a recipe and the price for ingredients is meant for Hollywood, not normal people who have to live on a budget. I believe that you can make incredibly delicious meals without breaking the bank!
When I first got married, I couldn't cook hardly anything and almost set the house on fire on more than one occasion. There were many tears, and many nights of ordering pizza! However, I've never been one to give up, so I set to work and taught myself to cook. All of my recipes have been taste-tested by family and friends. I try to cook mostly healthy recipes, but sometimes you just need mashed potatoes and gravy in your life!
My current cooking challenge/project is creating one meal two different ways, because my husband and I have to eat very differently. Since I got E.Coli food poisoning in 2013, I have not been able to eat grains, dairy, refined sugar, alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods, beans, and certain fruits and vegetables. A lot of people ask me, "What CAN you eat?!" Actually, quite a bit! Trial and error has been the story of my life these past few years and staying positive has been a challenge, but I want to infuse encouragement into others who struggle with digestive issues. YOU CAN OVERCOME THEM!!! I am living proof of that! I remember thinking at one point that my stomach would never get better or heal and that I would have to live the rest of my life in pain. But the body's natural ability to heal itself when given the right tools astounds me. It has taken me over a year to wrap my mind around creating the same dish two ways, so I cannot wait to share my new and improved recipes with you (they are still in the works).
Feel free to message me anytime with questions or happy comments! I would love to hear them.
